Webber: "Eerste plaats in kampioenschap telt pas na Abu Dhabi"

Red Bull Racing-coureur Mark Webber voert het kampioenschap aan, maar hij wil zich daar niet door laten afleiden van zijn doel voor de Grand Prix van Singapore, namelijk winnen. De tussenstand is niet belangrijk, de eindstand is het enige wat telt.

Met dat motto vangt Webber het slotakkoord van het seizoen 2010 aan. Ik leid, maar er zijn een paar jongens die maar een paar punten minder hebben en het is nog steeds interessant. De situatie kan snel veranderen. Maar mijn uitgangspositie is in elk geval leuk.

Ik zou graag meer punten willen hebben. Het maakt niet of je twee, vier of acht concurrenten hebt, de bedoeling is dat je races wint en met die opdracht ben ik hier in Singapore bezig. Gaan we met vijf titelkandidaten naar Abu Dhabi? Misschien, het kan ook drie of één zijn.

Het is zaak om races uit te rijden, blijven meedoen. We dienen ook in Abu Dhabi nog kans te maken. De eerste plaats in het kampioenschap telt pas na Abu Dhabi. Ik behandel Singapore als een gewone race, hetzelfde als aan het begin van het seizoen.

Niet finishen is geen optie, ik moet punten scoren. We gaan ons best doen om het maximale uit de auto te halen en normaal gesproken krijg je dan wat je verdient in deze sport. Een zege kan het verschil maken en daar gaan we hier naar op zoek.

Binnen nu en vijf wedstrijden komen we erachter:)

Het is zijn eerste reële kans op de wereldtitel en hoop dus dat hem dat lukt om de hoofdprijs binnen te harken.

Alhoewel ik liever Massa als kampioen gehuldigd zie worden, maar iets zegt me, dat hij dat ook dit jaar niet haalt:)

Dus laat Webber of Hamilton dan maar kampioen worden, kan ik me wel in vinden
