Oud-coureur Nève op 67-jarige leeftijd overleden

Oud Formule 1-coureur Patrick Nève is overleden. De Belg maakte in 1976 zijn debuut op het hoogste niveau in een door een RAM Racing ingeschreven Brabham BT44B. Later dat jaar reed hij in Frankrijk voor het team van Ensign.

Voor het volgende seizoen vergaarde Nève voldoende budget voor een stoeltje bij Williams Racing. De Belg was in 1977 de eerste coureur voor de renstal die tot stand kwam door de samenwerking tussen Frank Williams en Patrick Head.

Terwijl Head zich bekommerde om de auto voor 1978, racete Nève in een March 761 voor Williams. In totaal kwam hij tot tien Grand Prix-starts. Punten scoorde de Belg niet in de Formule 1. Nève is 67 jaar geworden.
