Rosberg sluit rol als teambaas of manager niet uit

Nico Rosberg stopte eind vorig jaar na het veroveren van de wereldtitel in de Formule 1 abrupt met racen. De Duitser kreeg sindsdien veelvuldig de vraag of het alweer begint te kriebelen en of een comeback als coureur tot de mogelijkheden behoort. Het is uitgesloten dat hij als rijder zijn rentree maakt, maar een terugkeer in een andere hoedanigheid is wel een optie.

Dat verkondigde Rosberg aan Auto Bild. "Een comeback als coureur is onmogelijk. Ik zeg geen nee tegen een toekomst als teambaas. Veel is mogelijk, al richt ik me voorlopig op sociale projecten. Kinderen en minder bevoorrechte mensen, daar hou ik me nu vooral mee bezig. Ik sta altijd op de uitkijk voor nieuwe projecten en ik ben ontspannen. Ik zou me later ook in een adviserende en managende rol om andere rijders kunnen bekommeren."

"Op dit moment geniet ik van mijn vrijheid. Twintig Grands Prix per jaar, je voelt je als een hamster in een looprad. Maar het is wel het mooiste hamsterrad ter wereld. Ik was een gepassioneerde coureur en heb genoten van mijn loopbaan. Echter, de Formule 1 is geen speeltuin. Om iedereen te verslaan en kampioen te worden moet alles in het teken staan van de titel. Ik heb bereikt wat ik wilde bereiken. Mijn nieuwe leven is net zo uitdagend en daar wil ik net zo succesvol in zijn."

      MarcelF1Fan, volgens mij snap je niet wat t.z.t. betekend, dat is niet hetzelfde als z.s.m. Ter zijner tijd kan ook zijn wanneer Hamilton weg is bij Mercedes.

      @Johnnada: ik snap heel goed wat tzt betekent, echter ik verwacht ergens dat de kans dat Lauda langer bij Mercedes zit dan Lewis kleiner is.

      @MF1F: dat zal ervan afhangen hoe het dit jaar met Mercedes an Hamilton gaat. Mocht of de auto niet meer competetief zijn, of hij word geen wk omdat Bottas toch sterker is dan iedereen verwacht, dan denk ik dat Lewis zijn heil ergens anders gaat zoeken. Mocht hij wk worden, dann kon hij daarna wel eens gaan stoppen om te gaan rappen.

      lauda heeft zn contract verleng tot 2020 , ik zie idd al een tijdje Rosberg als zn opvolger.. snap niet zo goed wat dat met Hamilton te maken heeft, als dat tegen die tijd uberhaupt nog speelt, zal verder Hamilton wat kunnen schelen of Lauda ( ook niet bepaald zijn vriend) of Rosberg in die functie rondloopt...

    Ik denk niet dat we Rosberg al heel snel als teambaas zullen zien. Wellicht over een jaar of 10.
    Hij zal genoeg uitdagingen hebben waar hij zich mee kan vermaken gok ik zo.
    Hij is misschien geen F1 coureur meer maar als oud WK kom je toch wel aan de bak.

    Ik denk dat Nico Rosberg een te zachtaardige man is om teambaas te zijn. Hij zou het inhoudelijk denk ik heel goed kunnen, maar hij gaat niet gelukkig worden van de slangenkuil.

    Hmmm, ik dacht dat hij gestopt was met racen omdat de stress hem leegvrat. Lijkt mij dat je als teambaas toch wel een hoop stress hebt.

      Als teambaas wel ja...veel stres. Maar in de functie van Lauda valt het wel wat mee, toch?
      Beetje rondlopen, beetje kletsen, beetje mee feesten en af en toe een coureur een sneer geven als het niet zo lekker loopt.
