Lowe barst van de energie voor Williams-avontuur

Niet alleen de Formule 1 begint komend weekend aan een nieuwe hoofdstuk, ook voor Paddy Lowe en Williams is dat het geval. Lowe keerde eerder deze maand terug bij Williams, het team waar hij twintig jaar geleden zijn Formule 1-loopbaan ook begon. Na omzwervingen via McLaren en Mercedes is hij nu terug op het oude nest, als technisch directeur en aandeelhouder.

Lowe barst van de energie voor dit nieuwe avontuur: "Ik ben heel blij om terug te zijn bij Williams, het team waar mijn Formule 1-carrière ook begon. We hebben een getalenteerde groep mensen en twee geweldige rijders waar ik nog niet eerder mee werkte. Ik kijk ernaar uit om samen met hen de paddock in Melbourne te betreden. De opening van het seizoen brengt zo'n back to school-gevoel met zich mee. Iedereen is opgeladen, je ziet oude bekenden weer eens en verwelkomt nieuwe gezichten."

"Ik ben altijd van mening geweest dat de eerste kwalificatie van het seizoen het meest intense en interessante uur van de hele Formule 1-kalender is. Dat is namelijk het moment dat alle rookgordijnen verdwijnen en iedereen zijn kaarten op tafel gooit en zijn ware aard toont. Dan zien we pas de echte performance van de teams en coureurs en krijgen we een indicatie van hoe het komende seizoen zich gaat ontvouwen."
