'Combinatie open kanalen en betaalde content toekomst van Formule 1'

Met de komst van Liberty Media als nieuwe commerciële rechtenhouder van de Formule 1 is de Formule 1 al meer open geworden ten opzichte van het tijdperk Ecclestone. Onder Ecclestone verdween de Formule 1 in veel landen achter de decoder. Dankzij social media en de vrijheid die Liberty Media de teams en coureurs geeft is er steeds meer content beschikbaar op social media. Sean Bratches, de nieuwe commerciële baas van Formule 1, denkt dat de toekomst van de Formule 1-uitzendingen ligt in het uitzenden op openbare kanalen en het beschikbaar stellen van exclusieve content, die tegen betaling beschikbaar is voor de fans.

Bratches laat weten dat dat het merk Formule 1 meer bereik moet genereren en daarom zijn uitzendingen op open kanalen belangrijk: "Er zijn manieren om het merk Formule 1 beter op de kaart te zetten en dat is via open kanalen. Natuurlijk moet er geld verdiend worden, dat kunnen we doen door bepaalde content exclusief aan te bieden. Het is geen geheim dat we sponsoren en investeerders nodig hebben en ook die teams hebben die nodig. De enige manier waarop je partijen aantrekt is door ze een open platform te bieden."

Volgens Bratches begint het een trend te worden dat steeds meer sporten een combinatie zoeken van uitzendingen op open kanalen en afgeschermde content: "Je ziet de combinatie in steeds meer sporten. Geld kan verdiend worden door de sport op een betaalkanaal uit te zenden, maar dan zul je wel abonnees nodig hebben die je pakket afnemen. Er moet goed gekeken worden wat per markt het beste werkt, dit is onder andere afhankelijk van hoe het medialandschap in bepaalde landen eruit ziet. In sommige landen is het heel normaal dat mensen moeten betalen om te kunnen kijken wat ze willen zien."

Hier ben ik het helemaal mee eens..... Heel basic beelden en commentaar via open kanaal en wil je meer info tijdens de race en kijken via verschillende camera's en misschien wel picture in picture in picture in picture.... Dan mag je er voor betalen :)

  Dat bedoel ik dus ook..... Als jij alles, maar dan ook alles qua beelden en informatie tot je beschikking wilt hebben, dan moet je daar gewoon voor betalen.....
  Maar als je genoegen neemt met alleen maar de race en commentaar dan mag het best op een open kanaal......
