Alain Prost: "Vertrek Vasseur bracht helderheid binnen het team"

Viervoudig wereldkampioen en adviseur bij het team van Renault, Alain Prost, zegt dat het vertrek van teambaas Frederic Vasseur helderheid binnen het team heeft gebracht. 

Vasseur vertrok in januari bij Renault mede omdat hij niet goed door één deur zou kunnen met directeur Cyril Abiteboul. Later zou Vasseur zeggen dat er een onoverbrugbaar verschil van visie binnen het management was. 

Consequenties trekken als het niet werkt

Alain Prost over het vertrek: "Het is moeilijk voor mij om te oordelen over de oorzaak van het vertrek van Vasseur, maar het is een feit en nu ligt de verantwoordelijkheid op de schouders van Cyril. Het voordeel daarvan is dat het nu duidelijk is." 

Prost vindt het vertrek van de voormalig teambaas jammer, maar zegt er over: "Als bepaalde zaken op welke manier dan ook niet goed werken dan moet je consequenties trekken."

Prost werd als adviseur aangesteld na het vertrek van Vasseur en heeft de verschillen van mening dus niet van dichtbij meegemaakt.

    Wat een slap geleuter weer van die Prost!
    Vorig jaar reed Renault met het oude Lotus chassis, dus dat zou dan op Vasseur zijn conto moeten zijn? Dat Vasseur en Cyril niet door 1 deur kunnen is een andere zaak!
    Het is echt een oude Franse baguette die Prost.

      Typisch Frans. Nog even de schuld in de schoenen van een ander schuiven.
      Als het dit jaar niet werkt wordt er weer iemand ontslagen die volledig de schuld zal krijgen.

    No one cares! Laat ze bij Renault maar eens een fatsoenlijke motor gaan bouwen in plaats van steeds met die achterhaalde en teleurstellende troep aan te komen. Nee 5 tienden, ne op de dyno, ja een asje, ja ontwerpje hoop geouwehoer en leuk allemaal, maar ondertussen is die Renault een beetje de Honda die heel blijft en zijn er vage berichten over motoren op dyno's met nog meer vermogen die in Barcelona gaan komen... Ja leuk! Al heeft dat ding 100pk meer dan nu, dan ben je er nog niet!!!!

    Als dat ding bestaat, flikker em achterin bij Palmer, en ploft dat ding 4 keer in een weekend, jammer dan. Palmer gaat toch geen punten scoren dit jaar. Overigens geloof ik wel in die nieuwe motor maar nooit vanzelangzaldieleven dat die 0.5 sec sneller gaat zijn, en dat is vooralsnog steeds 7 whopping tiende achterstand.

      Ik neem dat als een compliment. Dus +1 voor jou. In ieder geval ergens kampioen in. Voorlopig een onbereikbaar doel voor Red Bull.

      Les 1, hoe verkloot ik 500 miljoen dollar. Koop een Renault V6 motor en laat 1ne eigenwijze A. Newey 2 jaar lang uit ze neus vreten. Top gedaan!

    Titel wordt hier neergezet alsof prost een voorkeur heeft, hij merkt alleen op dag een schip maar 1 kapitein kan hebben
