Lewis Hamilton start morgen vanaf pole position nadat hij een geweldige tijd neerzette: 1:22:188. Daarmee was hij drie tienden sneller dan de nummer twee Sebastian Vettel en zijn teamgenoot Valtteri Bottas die op de derde plek eindigde.

De complimenten van Hamilton gingen naar het team: "Ik ben erg trots op mijn team. Door de regelwijziging stonden zij voor een hele grote uitdaging en ze hebben keihard gewerkt en fantastisch werk geleverd."
