Minister onder vuur door belastingregeling met F1

Het Britse parlement voert de druk op Philip Hammond, de minister van Financiën, op om naar buiten te treden over hoeveel speciale belastingafspraken er de afgelopen twee jaar met grote bedrijven zijn getroffen en hoeveel geld de Britse overheid daardoor is misgelopen. Dat bericht brengt journalist Christian Sylt via de website ThisIsMoney.co.uk.

Het balletje is gaan rollen door publicaties over een speciale regeling van de Britse belastingdienst met Delta Topco, het in Groot-Brittannië gevestigde moederbedrijf van de Formule 1. Over 2015 droeg die firma over een winst van 372 miljoen pond slechts 5,2 miljoen pond aan winstbelasting af. Dat komt neer op een tarief dat lager ligt dan 2 procent.

Delta Topco maakte gebruik van een zogenaamde Advanced Thin Capitalisation Agreement, die bedrijven in staat stelt om de rente die ze over leningen moeten betalen af te trekken van de winst voordat daar belasting over verrekend wordt. Via een constructie met offshore bedrijven verstrekte de Formule 1 zichzelf leningen, met een lage winstbelasting tot gevolg.

Nieuwe Formule 1-eigenaar Liberty Media was maar wat blij met deze constructie en haalde die zelfs aan om de aandeelhouders over te halen om de koningsklasse van de autosport aan te schaffen. De Britse minister van Financiën wordt nu echter op het matje geroepen door de Kamer en moet verantwoording afleggen voor de speciale regelingen.

Het punt met dit soort regelingen is dat de belastingdruk onevenredig hoog wordt voor de kleinere bedrijven en particulieren in een land.
Dat zijn de 2 partijen die voor 95% van de belastingafdracht zorg dragen.

Zo'n constructie kan elk kind van 6 nog wel in hoofdlijnen bedenken. Achterlijk dat het niet bedacht werd door die minister van Financiën, maar waarschijnlijk zal die gedacht hebben

  Als iedereen naar rato zijn steentje bijdraagt wordt de druk op de zwakkere belastingschouders minder en op de sterkere wat hoger.....maar ja, dat is teveel van het goede in onze 'ontwikkelde' landen. En trouwens, Nederland spant daarin helemaal de kroon, als hypocriet huichelachtig beste jongetje van de klas!!
