Hamilton voorziet spannend gevecht met Ferrari

Mercedes-coureur Lewis Hamilton gelooft dat de Formule 1 dit jaar een spannende strijd om de titel voor zal schotelen. De Brit denkt dat zijn werkgever en Ferrari elkaar heel weinig ontlopen. In Australië ging de eerste slag naar de Scuderia. Hamilton verwacht dat Ferrari dat hoge niveau het hele seizoen vast kan houden. Een tweestrijd tussen Mercedes en de Italiaanse renstal lonkt.

Hamilton: "Het zit heel dicht bij elkaar. De verschillen tussen Mercedes en Ferrari zijn minimaal, zowel in de kwalificatie als op gebied van racesnelheid. In Australië kon Sebastian Vettel me bijhouden. Dat zal per race fluctueren, waarbij zij de ene keer voor ons staan en het de volgende keer omgedraaid is. We hopen dat het zo is dat wij vaker de overhand hebben dan zij. Het mooie is dat we aan elkaar gewaagd zijn. Het zijn die kleine marges die racen zo opwindend maken."

Wakker geschud

Mercedes reeg de voorbije jaren de titels en Grand Prix-zeges aaneen, maar weet nu dat het niet op haar lauweren kan rusten. Motorsportbaas Toto Wolff tegenover Sport Bild: "We moeten de situatie niet dramatiseren. We beschikken over een competitieve auto en op diverse aspecten hebben we ruimte voor verbetering. Het resultaat in Melbourne heeft ons enigszins wakker geschud. Het toonde ons dat we ons geen fouten meer kunnen permitteren en perfect moeten zijn. Dat motiveert ons."

Mercedes gemotiveerd, Ferrari gemotiveerd, RBR gemotiveerd. Aan motivatie zal het dus niet leggen als het mis gaat voor een van de drie.

Rbr gaat zich zeker mengen, aus gaf een verkeerd beeld.
Ferrari is vaak sterk in Australie. Vorig jaar hadden ze moeten winnen en waren de snelste daar. Hopelijk houden ze dat vast dit jaar, dan wordt het een mooi jaar.

2 x mb voorop weg rijden, dat wil niemand meer en zelfs mb ook niet. Voor hun pr is het natuurlijk beter als ze een overwinning uit de vuur slepen dan op cruise controle binnen halen.

  De eerste races zou een podiumplaats voor de Red Bulls al een superprestatie zijn. Maar als het zondag regent, behoort het niet tot de onmogelijkheden.

  Haha ja heel nederland is weer negatief na melbourne. Terwijl algemeen bekend is dat die race niet echt de krachtsverhouding weergeeft maar goed ik heb het opgeslagen. Eve zien kijkspijler zegt gaat niet gebeuren noted

Naief om te denken na 1 race dat iedereen al weet hoe het jaar gaat lopen.redbull gaat gewoon meedoen i net te kort voor de titel maar p2 gaat lukken
