Ook de start van tweede training loopt vertraging op

De start van de tweede vrije training voor de Grand Prix van China is uitgesteld. De eerste sessie in Sjanghai werd ook al onderbroken en ingekort. De oorzaak is nu hetzelfde als vanochtend, namelijk dat de traumahelikopter vanwege mist niet kan landen bij het ziekenhuis.

Het is voor Formule 1-sessies een vereiste dat de medische helikopter op kan opereren. Als dat zoals nu in China niet mogelijk is, dan aarzelt de wedstrijdleiding niet om de betreffende sessie uit te stellen, te onderbreken of te annuleren. Het is nog niet bekend hoe lang deze vertraging gaat duren.

      @DEMACHIEL: Als je een beetje de laatste jaren had opgelet had je geweten dat het in china constant klote is. Is het niet mist dan is het wel smog. Hoe vaak de trainingen hier stil zijn gelegd is niet normaal...

      Komt omdat de medische helikopter indien nodig moet landen in bewoonbaar gebied en de tv helikoter op een open veld, dus ja en ook in Nederland vliegt de trauma niet bij mist om dezelfde reden.

    Het zal wel vloeken in de kerk zijn, maar nuchter gezien is een helikopter geen noodzaak, maar een luxe, gewoon omdat het kan.
    99,99% van de gewonde ongelukken worden ook met een ouderwetse ambulance afgehandeld, en dat gaat uitstekend. Voorts is er geen enkel gedocumenteerd geval waarin de helikopter levensreddend was tegenover de ambulance.
    Dus ook hier weer faalt het gezond verstand en laat men zich leiden door irreële vooronderstellingen.

      Oneens. Dit is gewoon onderdeed vh protocol en dat moet dus gewoon opgevolgd worden. Je kunt iets niet negeren in deze situatie omdat het nog nooit gebeurd is.

      Het ongeluk van Bianchi was ook nog nooit gebeurd op die manier. Het ongeluk van Surtees Jr. was ook nog nooit gebeurd etc.

      Het is belangrijk dat een coureur zsm bij een ziekenhuis kan komen ongeacht hoe ver een ziekenhuis van het circuit af ligt en een helikopter is daar een wezenlijk onderdeel van. De kans is klein dat het vandaag nodig is, maar uitsluiten kun je het niet. Dus gewoon protocol volgen.
