Gridstraf voor Antonio Giovinazzi

Sauber-coureur Antonio Giovinazzi heeft een gridstraf van vijf plaatsen gekregen vanwege een versnellingsbakwissel. De bak in de Sauber C36 raakte beschadigd door de zware crash die de Italiaan gisteren tijdens het eerste deel van de kwalificatie meemaakte op het Shanghai International Circuit.

De straf van Giovinazzi betekent dat Red Bull-coureur Max Verstappen weer een plekje opschuift op de startopstelling. De jonge Nederlander 'won' gisteren al twee plekken, nadat Renault-coureur Jolyon Palmer en Haas-coureur Romain Grosjean een straf kregen.
