Sebastian Vettel: "Auto viel plotseling uit"

Na de eerste twee vrije trainingen ziet Ferrari er ook in Bahrein goed uit. Sebastian Vettel sloot beide trainingen als snelste af. Geheel probleemloos verliepen de sessies niet voor het Italiaanse team. In de eerste vrije training viel Kimi Raikkonen stil met een technisch probleem, in de tweede training moest Vettel zijn training even onderbreken nadat de auto plots uit viel.

"Ik weet niet wat er aan de hand was, maar opeens deed niets het meer. Gelukkig had ik geen schade. Er zit zoveel electronica en software op deze auto's, ik vermoed dat daar iets niet goed heeft gewerkt. Gelukkig konden we het probleem snel oplossen en alsnog veel rondjes rijden. Ik weet zeker dat het team de oorzaak van het probleem gaat vinden en dat het niet weer voor zal komen", aldus Vettel in een eerste reactie op Sky Sports.

Over de verwachtingen voor het vervolg van het weekend wil Vettel nog niet veel kwijt: "Mercedes ziet er zoals gewoonlijk sterk uit, maar ook Red Bull lijkt het in warmere omstandigheden beter te doen. Ik weet zeker dat wij nog wat marge hebben en we morgen ons verder kunnen verder verbeteren."

    Merc en Fer lijken niet zo sterk dan in de andere 2 weekenden. Dat is mooi.

      Het is pas een vrije training. Morgen en zondag als het er echt om gaat staan Ferrari en Mercedes gewoon weer op plek 1 tot 4 en bungelen de Red Bull's er op enige afstand achter.

    Toch 2 Ferrari's die stil vielen vandaag. Kimi met een turbo probleem en Vet met een elektronisch probleem. Toch wel opvallend na de probleemloze tests en afgelopen GP's.

      Tja, bloedje heet richting de 40 ambiant
      Zondag wordt het een stuk koeler, beter voor het materiaal en een paar man zal meteen wel voor een éénstopper proberen te gaan

      Het zal inderdaad wel met de temperatuur te maken hebben. Net als die brandblusser van sainz. Dat zal ook wel een te warme sensor zijn.
