Ecclestone heeft duidelijke boodschap voor Liberty Media

Bernie Ecclestone heeft een opvallende uitspraak gedaan in de richting van de nieuwe eigenaren van de Formule 1. De ere-voorzitter van de Formule 1 die door Liberty Media vervangen werd door het team Chase Carey, Sean Bratches en Ross Brawn deed zijn uitspraken in het BBC-programma Top Gear.

Pistool zonder kogels

De 86-jarige Ecclestone: "Ik zei dat het probleem met allerlei soorten dieren is dat als je ze wil doden, je ze ook echt moet doden en niet verwonden." Hij werd geïnterviewd door Eddie Jordan en die vroeg uiteraard of dit wellicht een boodschap was aan Liberty. Daarop antwoord Ecclestone cryptisch: "Het is maar net welke uitleg de mensen er aan willen geven toch?"

Over zijn nieuwe rol als ere-voorzitter is hij ook niet echt enthousiast. "Ik weet het niet hoor, het is een beetje of je een hitman een pistool zonder kogels geeft. Maar ik heb genoeg geld om zelf kogels te kopen", aldus de miljardair.

      Hij heeft de kans om heerlijk van zijn geld te gaan genieten in de wetenschap goed voor de F1 te hebben gezorgd, maar dreigt er kogels van te gaan kopen.... nee, dan snap je niet veel van het leven die (in zijn geval) ook nog eens ieder moment afgelopen kan zijn..Ekkel: er zijn NU anderen aan de macht...LAAT HET GAAN!!!;-)

      Helemaal mee eens Wibi.

      Lekker gaan genieten van je geld. En wellicht een enkele x nog eens komen kijken bij een race zoals Monaco ofzo. En alleen opbouwende kritiek leveren. Want nu is het slechts rancune.

      Bernie had al geld voordat hij de commerciële taken overnam van de FOCA. Hij was o.a. eigenaar van Brabham rond die tijd.

      Bernie verkocht op zijn basisschool al broodjes met winst door. Het handelen zat er vroeg in.

    had Manor F1 dan een beetje geld gegeven / over laten houden i.p.v. wat kogels te kopen... als het hele F1 je dan zoveel deed had je dit niet laten gebeuren...

    Ze hebben hem ook wel een blokkendoos gegeven waarmee hij in een hoekje kan gaan zitten spelen. Ik begrijp nooit dat ze 'oude' mensen met een schat aan ervaring zo afdanken en inruilen voor snellere types die met de tijd mee gaan, maar van toeten nog blazen weten. Je ziet dat in het alledaagse bedrijfsleven ook; ontzieling.

      Klopt. Maar in het geval van Ecclestone kan ik me zo voorstellen dat het alles of niets is. Als je hem een beetje macht geeft, zit ie zo weer op de troon.
