FIA geeft Circuito de Navarro licentie voor Formule 1-tests

Spanje is een nieuw Formule 1-testcircuit rijker. De internationale autosportbond FIA heeft een T1-licentie uitgereikt aan het Circuito de Navarro. Dat houdt in dat de baan goedgekeurd is voor Formule 1-tests.

Het Circuito de Navarro in de buurt van Santiago werd in juni van dit jaar geopend en is 3.933 meter lang. Spanje telt nu zes voor Formule 1-tests geschikte circuits. Naast Circuito de Navarro zijn dat Circuit de Catalunya, Jerez, Circuito Ricardo Tormo, Aragon en Monteblanco.

    Dat wil ik eigenlijk ook wel weten.
    Maar volgens mij waren ze zondag as klaar met de laatste asfalt laag. Dan kan er pas echt een keuring gebeuren. Zou een domper zijn als hij nu niet door gaat.

    Ja, maar de keuring wordt morgen pas afgerond, dus ik denk dat je dan pas nieuws kunt verwachten.

    Hoe kunnen ze dat daar allemaal financieren? In Nederland hebben we al problemen om de huidige circuits naar up to date standaarden te brengen en daar wordt ieder jaar weer een nieuwe baan opgeleverd.

      Die Spanjaarden hebben jaren lang miljarden aan €uro subsidies uit Brussel gehaald omdat ze ergens 80\'er jaren nog een redelijk armlastig land waren. Wij Nederlanders zijn daar altijd veel te braaf in geweest hoewel we het de laatste jaren wel en beetje gaan leren om pienter met de regeltjes om te gaan. Toekenning van subsidies gaat kennelijk per bestuurlijk orgaan (provincies bijvoorbeeld) omdat ambtenaren nu eenmaal zo denken. Neem de provincie Flevoland waar de redelijk wat mensen wonen maar waar slechts weinig werkgelegenheid is (half Almere werkt in Amsterdam en da\'s toch echt een andere provincie...). Dankzij het onrecht van de weinige werkgevers, hebben we de laatste jaren ardig wat subsidies uit Brussel weten te halen, waar o.a. Donkervoort en Spyker van geprofiteerd hebben en waar bijvoorbeeld luchthaven Lelystad zijn groeiplannen mee hoopt te financieren. Ook TT-Circuit Assen heeft de afgelopen jaren geld uit €uropa gehaald en da\'s natuurlijk alleen maar mooi. Of die Spanjolen nog lang kunnen profiteren, is te betwijfelen. Dankzij de toevoeging van oost-europese landen aan de EU lijkt er eindelijk het besef te komen dat Spanje best een rijk land is geworden, de afgelopen 30 jaar...

      Tuurlijk wel, alleen niet tijdens het seizoen zelf. Daarvoor testen ze heel wat af (oké, valt wel mee, maar ze testen wel).

    Leuk al die testcircuits, maar zolang het testen aan banden ligt hebben ze er geen moer aan. Alle teams gaan nu toch naar Barcelona en Jerez met de beperkingen. Die circuits kennen ze al als hun broekzak en daar kunnen ze dus het meest efficient testen. Een nieuw circuit gaan gebruiken kost ze kostbare test-tijd.
