Van knieblessure herstelde Robin Frijns kan weer racen

Robin Frijns is hersteld van de knieblessure die hij drie weken geleden opliep tijdens een looptraining en kan weer racen. De Nederlander keert dit weekend terug achter het stuur van de Audi R8 LMS van Team WRT voor de Blancpain GT Sprint Cup op Brands Hatch.

Frijns: "Ik voel me geweldig en ben fit om weer te racen. Ik kijk ernaar uit om weer met de geel-grijze WRT Audi R8 LMS te rijden!" Hij combineert de Blancpain Series dit jaar met racen voor MS Amlin Andretti in de Formule E. De eerstvolgende ePrix staat volgende week op het programma, in Monaco. De Blancpain Series gaat dan naar Silverstone voor de Endurance Cup.

Om bij Sauber te mogen racen ontbrak het hem aan geld.
En om bij Caterham te kunnen racen ontbrak het team aan geld.

Nu kan hij een mooie carriere naast de F1 opbouwen en daar lekker meestrijden om punten en podiums, iets dat hem mogelijk in de F1 nooit gelukt zou zijn.
