Hockenheim neemt geen financiële risico's voor GP

Het voortbestaan van de Grand Prix van Duitsland is nog altijd uiterst onzeker. Het evenement keert volgend jaar terug op de Formule 1-kalender met een race op de Hockenheimring. Volgens het oude roulatieschema zou in 2019 de Nürburgring weer aan de beurt zijn, maar dat circuit is al eerder afgehaakt. En of de Duitse Grand Prix dan, of in 2020, naar Hockenheim gaat, valt ook nog maar te bezien.

Hockenheimring-directeur Georg Seiler lost tegenover persbureau DPA een waarschuwingsschot. "Als we verder gaan in het oude ritme, dan zou de Grand Prix in 2019 op de Nurbürgring plaatsvinden en in 2020 weer bij ons. Maar alleen als we een nieuw contract overeen kunnen komen. We zullen geen financiële risico's meer nemen om een Grand Prix te organiseren. Als de voorwaarden niet veranderen, dan loopt de Formule 1 in Duitsland serieus gevaar."

"We zijn aan handen en voeten gebonden door de Formule 1. Ook omdat we als een van de weinige circuits wereldwijd geen subsidie ontvangen. We krijgen geen stuiver van de regio, provincie, overheid of wie dan ook. Veel mensen verdienen een hoop geld aan deze sport. Dan kan het niet zo zijn dat degenen die het speelveld prepareren en investeringen doen verliezen lijden. Als dat betekent dat de Formule 1 verdwijnt uit Duitsland, dan is dat maar zo."

"Echter, ik hoop en heb het gevoel dat de nieuwe eigenaren van de sport er belang bij hebben dat de Duitse Grand Prix blijft bestaan. Voor ons is een voorwaarde dat we financieel geen risico willen lopen. Promotors zijn niet langer bereid om de verantwoordelijkheid voor het Formule 1-pakket te dragen en circuits kunnen niet langer leven met verliesgevende evenementen. Het is noodzaak dat de nieuwe contracten gunstiger zijn voor de organiserende partijen."

Ik woon er.......

Met de DTM, staat het verkeer al vast.
En ga zo maar door.....
Dus die paar dagen dat de F1 evt. op bezoek komt, maakt toch niets uit ;)

Ja idd helemaal mee eens, en dit zal een tendens voor Europese cicuits worden!
Richt een overkoepelend orgaan op voor de Europese cicuits en maak op die manier een vuist om naar een gezonde toekomst te werken!
