Teams halen motorhomes van stal voor Spaanse GP

Het Europese deel van het Formule 1-seizoen staat op het punt van beginnen en dat houdt in dat de teams weer gebruik kunnen maken van hun (in sommige gevallen enorme) motorhomes. In de paddock van het Circuit de Catalunya nabij Barcelona hebben de renstallen de afgelopen dagen opbouwwerkzaamheden verricht. Zoals te zien is op de foto's zijn de motorhomes van Red Bull Racing/Scuderia Toro Rosso, Ferrari en McLaren in gereedheid gebracht in Spanje.

De eerste Grand Prix in Europa betekent ook dat de trucks om het materiaal naar de racelocaties te vervoeren van stal gehaald zijn. Red Bull Racing en Mercedes zijn daar nogal enthousiast over:

    Gewoon even nieuwschierig en onwetend: wat voor motorhomes en trucks gebruiken ze dan in de over-zeese gp's? Gewoon de lokale Van Gend & Loos en een standaard camper ofzo?

    Red Bull had haar motorhome 2,7 seconde sneller opgebouwd dan Mercedes en Ferrari.

    Ferrari komt na Canada met een b-spec van haar motorhome, terwijl hardnekkige geruchten de rondte gaan dat Mercedes dan met een heel nieuw concept komt.

    Marko: “We hadden zo’n reactie van onze concurrenten wel verwacht en zullen daar zeker updates tegenover stellen maar ik kan daar nog geen datum aanhangen. Misschien wordt het juli voordat het zover is.”
