Kristensen staat stewards in Spanje bij met adviezen

Tom Kristensen verleent komend weekend bij de Grand Prix van Spanje op het Circuit de Catalunya in de buurt van Barcelona zijn hulp aan de stewards van de internationale autosportbond FIA. De Deen fungeerde dit seizoen nog niet eerder als adviseur voor de wedstrijdleiding. Zijn laatste optreden als extra racesteward was in Abu Dhabi vorig jaar.

Kristensen heeft zelf nooit in de Formule 1 geracet. Hij testte wel voor Minardi, Tyrrell en Jaguar, en bereidde bandenleverancier Michelin voor op een terugkeer in de Formule 1 met een Williams uit 2000. Kristensen was vooral succesvol in de 24 uur van Le Mans die hij acht maal op zijn naam schreef. Eind 2014 zette hij een punt achter zijn imposante carrière.
