Stirling Moss na 134 dagen in het ziekenhuis weer thuis

Oud Formule 1-coureur Stirling Moss is aan de beterende hand. De 87-jarige Brit werd 134 dagen geleden met een zware infectie aan de luchtwegen opgenomen in het ziekenhuis van Singapore. Hij was nu voldoende hersteld om terug te keren naar huis.

In een verklaring op zijn website staat: "Stirling heeft nog een substantiële weg af te leggen in zijn herstel, maar hij is vastberaden en de medische staf die tot zijn beschikking staat is uitstekend. Hij en zijn vrouw zijn dankbaar voor de hulp die ze in het ziekenhuis gekregen hebben."

"Ze willen ook hun familie, vrienden en de fans bedanken voor hun liefde en steunbetuigingen. Stirling vindt de steun overweldigend en put er kracht, plezier en hoop uit. Voor nu verheugen hij en zijn vrouw zich erop om te ontspannen in hun huis en zondag de Spaanse Grand Prix te kijken."
