Frijns beste Formule E-rijder in kartrace in Parijs

De Formule E organiseerde gisteren een kartrace ter ere van Billy Monger, de jonge Formule 4-rijder die vorige maand beide onderbenen verloor bij een zwaar ongeluk op Donington Park. Tien Formule E-coureurs namen het op het RKC Karting-circuit in Parijs in een benefietwedstrijd op tegen fans.

Jean-Eric Vergne, Nelson Piquet, Ho-Pin Tung, Felix Rosenqvist, Nick Heidfeld, Stephane Sarrazin, Antonio Felix da Costa en Robin Frijns deden mee. Van dat tiental finishte Frijns als hoogst geklasseerde Formule E-coureur. De Nederlander legde beslag op de derde positie. Piquet eindigde als vijfde.

Initiatiefnemers Vergne en Piquet hebben zich ten doel gesteld om 20.000 pond in te zamelen voor Monger. Op dit moment is nog geen tien procent van die doelstelling gehaald. Doneren kan nog via deze pagina.
