Het is vandaag precies twaalf jaar geleden dat Mark Webber voor het eerst het podium mocht betreden in de Formule 1. Dat deed de Australiër in niet zomaar een Grand Prix, maar in Monaco. Op 22 mei 2005 finishte hij namens Williams. als derde achter winnaar Kimi Raikkonen en teamgenoot Nick Heidfeld. Webber zou in het vervolg van zijn Formule 1-loopbaan nog 41 podiumplaatsen behalen, waaronder negen overwinningen.
