Video: Renault viert 40-jarig jubileum in Formule 1

Het is veertig jaar geleden dat Renault voor het eerst racete in de Formule 1. De Franse autofabrikant trad in 1977 toe tot de koningsklasse van de autosport en is eigenlijk niet meer weg te denken. Om dat jubileum te vieren ging Renault afgelopen weekend in Monaco terug in de tijd, samen met rijder Nico Hülkenberg en oud-coureur Alain Prost.

    Statistieken tonen aan dat men in jubileumjaren altijd wat ondermaats presteert omdat er dan te veel wordt teruggekeken en gevierd waardoor de aandacht wat verslapt en de topfocus die in de F1 wordt vereist doorgaans ondersneeuwt.

    Gedurende het jaar wordt men dan door de tegenvallende prestaties hard wakker geschud, men schrikt van de tegenvallende resultaten.

    Wat vrijwel direct volgt is dat de mouwen weer ambitieus worden opgestroopt en de toekomstvisie komt weer volop in het vizier met als gevolg een opvallende stijgende steile curve in de prestaties die een jaar later tot de grootst mogelijke successen leiden.

    Kortom gefeliciteerd Renault maar het is nu tijd om weer wakker te worden en aan de slag te gaan. Goeiemorgen allemaal. ;)

    Ik stel voor eerst een nieuwe update afleveren en daarna pas iets gaan vieren als dat zo nodig moet...

    Een van de mooiste F1 wagens die 1983er.

    Motor maakte een mooi laag en monotoon geluid hoewel veel mensen toen klaagden dat het niet genoeg klonk als een racemotor. Die vonden dat een racemotor moest klinken zoals de Cosworth motoren: hoop gepruttel.
