Formule 1 een topproduct voor Haas F1 Team

Gene Haas heeft nog geen seconde spijt gehad van zijn beslissing om de Formule 1 te betreden. De Amerikaan is sinds begin 2016 met een eigen team actief in de koningsklasse van de autosport en dat heeft hem geen windeieren gelegd. Zijn bedrijf Haas Automation plukt er de vruchten van.

Haas verkondigt aan Speed Week: "Wat de impact op mijn bedrijf betreft, heeft de betrokkenheid bij de Formule 1 bijgedragen aan de populariteit. Dit kampioenschap is een topproduct en we gebruiken het om onze eigen topproducten te promoten, dus dat sluit naadloos op elkaar aan."

"De Formule 1 is voor ons een lange termijn-strategie. We zijn nog lerende, al ben ik zeer tevreden over wat we tot op heden gepresteerd hebben. Ik weet niet wat de toekomst zal brengen, maar op dit moment ben ik uiterst content over hetgeen we al bereikt hebben."

"Ik had vooraf werkelijk geen idee hoe groot de technologische uitdaging van de Formule 1 zou zijn. Waarschijnlijk geldt dat voor de meeste fans, het is voor de buitenwereld lastig om in te schatten hoe complex deze auto's zijn. Maar het is fascinerend en leuk om de strijd aan te binden op het hoogste niveau. We hebben sterke partners en volgens mij doen we het wel aardig."

"Het is een uitdaging om te strijden tegen de andere Formule 1-teams, die hun werk ook goed doen. Wat betreft de banden, pitstops en strategieën bevinden we ons nog niet op gelijke hoogte met de gevestigde orde. Te vaak komen onze coureurs in verkeer terecht en verliezen we zo posities. We laten nog veel tijd liggen met dat soort kleine dingen, maar we komen er wel."

Ik hoorde een hoop mensen hier roepen dat Haas F1 niks zou presteren en ten onder zou gaan..

Ik moet zeggen dat Haas F1 het zeer goed doet en ik hoop dat ze nog lang in de F1 blijven!

jammer dat F1 zo duur is , zo,n 28 auto,s op de grid maakt het allemaal gelijk weer een stuk aantrekkelijker... die tijd dat het niet eens zeker was of je zou kwalificeren voor een plaatsje , goh hoeveel auto,s waren er op een gegevenmoment wel niet, meer dan dertig als ik me het herinner....

  Dat was in 1989 , er waren 39 deelnemers , je had op vrijdagochtend een prekwalifikatie , er vielen er dan 9 af . En de overige 30 gingen door naar de kwalifikatie..of je moest prekwalificeren had weer te maken hoe je het jaar ervoor geeindigd was in het kampioenschap en of je een nieuw team was.
