Ferrari snapt niets van kritiek op mediabeleid

Het team van Ferrari voert nog altijd een strikt beleid als het gaat om media-uitspattingen voor medewerkers van het team. De teamleiding, technische staf en coureurs mogen alleen op gezette tijden de pers te woord staan. Meer dan de gebruikelijke praatjes na de sessies zit er niet in, één-op-één interviews zijn uit den boze. Voor de rest verwijst de Scuderia naar de persberichten.

Dit tot groot ongenoegen van de media, die graag meer teksten uit de monden van rijders Sebastian Vettel en Kimi Raikkonen willen optekenen. Ferrari-teambaas Maurizio Arrivabene noemde het bij een van de zeldzame momenten dat hij zelf met de pers sprak een kwestie van concentratie. Hij snapt de storm van kritiek niet. "We doen veel op social media en we zetten de vorig jaar ingezette lijn voort."

"Liberty Media wil alsmaar meer interviews en contact met de buitenwereld, maar de nieuwe eigenaar van de sport heeft het ook steeds over de digitale wereld. Daar proberen wij een goede balans in te vinden. Als teambaas is het mijn taak om het team te managen, de coureurs het naar de zin te maken en mijn werk te doen. We zijn uiterst geconcentreerd en in een gevecht met een 'monster', zoals met Mercedes, heb je alle concentratie nodig en kun je je geen afleidingen veroorloven."

    Alsof het geven van wat interviews je afleiden van het gevecht met een monster....ze vragen toch niet of alle werknemers tegelijk een interview willen geven.
    Het viel mij trouwens al eerder op dat er zeer weinig berichtgeving van de kant van Ferrari en haar coureurs naar buiten komt.

    De media en pers is toch voor 80% voor niets meer goed ... alles houden zoals het is nu, volle focus op de races ...

    Geef ze eens ongelijk. Ten eerste mag een team dit lijkt mij zelf bepalen. Een mediastrategie ontwikkelen en zich hier aan houden. Dat de media het hier mee oneens is, of dit weinig vindt, mag ook. Maar zodra de (kinder)hand niet gevuld wordt, wordt er natuurlijk verontwaardigd gereageerd.

    Echter, ik vind het ergens wel een verademing. De oneindige stroom aan uitspraken van voormalig teambaas Dominicali en cohorten over hoe ''volgend jaar het jaar ging worden dat het ging gebeuren voor Ferrari'', destijds helaas ijdele hoop is gebleken.

    Deze focus vind ik verfrissend, stoïcijns hun werk doen. Niet roepen maar presteren. En zie hier, Ferrari doet weer eens echt vooraan mee. Avanti!

      Dat presteren zit hem alleen in het maken van een goed product en niet in het niet geven van interviews.

      Helemaal mee eens, heb me zo zitten ergeren de afgelopen jaren. Veel geblaat, weinig wol. Arrogant kwam het over. Dit is veel beter, nemen zo ook een stukje druk weg. Helemaal prima.

      @Beetle Dat heeft meer met het Ziggo format te maken dan het Olav en Jack. Het is al een wonder dat er nu wat meer gebeurt in NL als het om F1 gaat, meer aandagt en meer zendtijd. Daar zit vooral Olaf al jaren op te wachten, die moest het daarvoor doen met compilaties en nacomentaar.

      Je kan het ook niet vergelijken met Skysports, wat de norm is als het gaat om het Coveren van een F1 weekend, maar het budget ook 25x groter is.

    Ik snap het wel, Fans willen wel meer dan alleen de aangekondige persbriefings waarin niets nuttigs word gezegt, Leuke 1 op 1 intervieuws bij Sky of Ziggo zijn altijd leuk om te kijken.

    Ik heb meerdere boeken gelezen over sportcommentatoren in de F1 die allemaal aangeven dat het een living hell is om een afspraak bij Ferrari te maken en dat als ze afspraken maken voor interviews Ferrari ze gewoon niet nakomt. Verrachting van de Ferrari fan en F1 kijker als je het mij vraagt.

      Volgens mij komt het erop neer dat Kimi geen fan is van de hele poppenkast en alleen komt om te rijden (zie lotus), maar af en toe is die verplicht om iets te zeggen en/of te doen als het ten goede komt aan de sport.

      Daarnaast heel tegenstrijdig dan wat ik net zei; Kimi was wel actief op het benefiet voor kankerbestrijding en/of onderzoek.

      Vind het trouwens wel wat hebben die stille ferrari, want afgelopen jaren hoorde we veel en zagen wij weinig prestaties.
