Pirelli denkt dat eenstopper beste strategie is voor de race

De voorspelde regen voor de race blijft waarschijnlijk uit in Montreal: de verwachting is dat de race van vanavond onder zonnige en warme omstandigheden zal worden afgewerkt. Pirelli verwacht voor de race dat de meeste coureurs een keer binnen zullen komen voor vers rubber.

De coureurs in de top tien starten op de banden die ze gebruikten in Q2. Wat verder interressant is dat er qua rondetijd nauwelijks verschil zit tussen de superzachte banden en de zachte banden. Coureurs die voor zekerheid gaan kiezen bij hun stop voor de zachte band, aangezien deze langer meegaat.

Een tweestopper is volgens Pirelli ook mogelijk, maar het slagen van deze strategie is afhankelijk van hoeveel sneller de coureur die voor deze strategie kiest kan rijden ten opzichte van de mannen die maar een stop zullen maken.
