Komend weekend zullen de twee grootste toerwagenklassen van de wereld in actie komen. De coureurs van het World TouringCar Championship (WTCC) rijden voor het laatst op Okayama in Japan, terwijl de Deutsche Tourwagen Masters-rijders (DTM) in Italië zullen racen.

DTM
Adria, Italië
De strijd om de titel in de DTM is na de race in Hockenheim steeds heviger geworden. Bruno Spengler verloor de leiding in het kampioenschap aan Paul di Resta, die al drie opeenvolgende zeges heeft geboekt. Mercedes is sowieso al zeker van de titel, want de andere coureur die kans maakt op het kampioenschap is Gary Paffett.

WTCC
Okayama, Japan
Yvan Muller kan komend weekend voor de tweede maal kampioen worden in het WTCC. De Fransman heeft 27 punten voorsprong op Andy Priaulx van BMW en 29 punten op Gabriele Tarquini van SEAT. Als Muller de titel weet te winnen, zou het het eerste kampioenschap zijn voor Chevrolet in het WTCC. Na de race in Okayama staat alleen nog het weekend van Macau op het programma.
