Pascal Wehrlein wil oude Ferrari-motor niet als excuus gebruiken

Het team van Sauber heeft al het hele weekend niet de snelheid op de Red Bull Ring en het mag dan ook geen verrassing heten dat Pascal Wehrlein en Marcus Ericsson de langzaamste tijden reden in de kwalificatie. Wehrlein reed zelfs de langzaamste tijd. Het is geen geheim dat Sauber het lastig heeft op de snelle Red Bull Ring vanwege de 2016-specificatie Ferrari-motor, Wehrlein wil dat niet als excuus gebruiken.

"We hebben het hier het hele weekend al moeilijk. Op een of andere manier lukt het ons niet meer uit het pakket te halen. Natuurlijk zijn we in het nadeel met onze motor, maar ik wil dat niet als excuus gebruiken. Wel had ik wat problemen met het opladen van de batterij, maar ook zonder dat hadden we niet verder naar voren kunnen komen", aldus Pascal Wehrlein in gesprek met Jack Plooij van Ziggo Sport.
