Carlos Sainz: "Motorprobleem betekende einde race"

Voor Carlos Sainz werd de Grand Prix van Oostenrijk een race om heel snel te vergeten. De Spaanse coureur in dienst van Toro Rosso kampte al vanaf de start met motorproblemen, maar wist zich ondanks dat toch nog op te werken naar een positie in de punten. Na veertig ronden zat de race er voor Sainz alsnog op.

In een korte reactie voor de camera van Ziggo Sport laat Sainz het volgende weten: "Het was niet mijn race. Gelijk bij de start waren er al problemen met de motor. We verloren in de eerste tien ronden al heel veel tijd vanwege de problemen, maar besloten door te rijden. Uiteindelijk was ik snel genoeg voor de punten, maar helaas mocht het niet zo zijn. Na veertig ronden besloten we maar om te stoppen, het had geen zin meer. Jammer om een goed weekend zo te moeten eindigen."
