Formule 1 kondigt samenwerking met Snapchat aan

De Formule 1 bundelt de krachten dit weekend voor de Britse Grand Prix op Silverstone met Snap Inc, het moederbedrijf van Snapchat. Deze samenwerking is een voorbode voor later dit jaar. Het weekend op Silverstone verschijnt prominent in 'Our Stories' op Snapchat. Vanaf de Grand Prix van Singapore maakt de Formule 1 vast onderdeel uit van het Our Stories-segment.

Frank Arthofer, hoofd digitale media bij de Formule 1: "Dit is de eerste stap in de strategie om onze aanwezigheid op social media te vergroten. Vanaf het begin hebben we aangegeven dat we samen willen werken met partners die de prachtige sport die de Formule 1 is - met de ongelooflijke combinatie van technologie en individueel talent - dichter bij de fans kunnen brengen. Snap past perfect in die visie. We moeten nieuwe fans bereiken door via social media unieke en leuke content van achter de schermen aan te bieden. Het platform Snapchat is een van de meest populaire kanalen en vertegenwoordigt de toekomst van deze sport."

Ben Schwerin, vice-voorzitter van Snap Inc: "We willen werken met de meest iconische sportorganisaties ter wereld, sporten die beschikken over een gepassioneerde en betrokken globale fanschare. De Formule 1 stond wat dat betreft al een tijdje bovenaan ons verlanglijstje. Het doel is simpel; we willen het leven van een Formule 1-fan leuker maken, ongeacht waar ter wereld diegene zich bevindt. Snapchat biedt unieke en creatieve manieren om deze sport te ervaren en we zijn vereerd dat de Formule 1 ervoor gekozen heeft om de handen ineen te slaan met ons platform."

  Goedkoop of niet slim is het zeker. Hele bedoeling is natuurlijk fans dichter bij het spectakel te krijgen en op deze manier lukt dat toch prima zo??

Lijkt me een goede ontwikkeling. Ik heb ook liever via snapchat dan facebook ofzo, waar je met je echte naam actief op moet zijn.

Zal mij een worst wezen. Ik ben erg op mijn privacy gesteld en ben daarom niet op fit soort onzinnige 'kanalen' te vinden. Voor nieuws over de formule 1 struin ik de internet af.
