Nielsen voegt zich bij team specialisten onder Brawn

Steve Nielsen gaat aan de slag bij Formula One Management. Eind deze maand legt hij zijn taken als teammanager bij Williams neer, maar hij zal de Formule 1 niet verlaten. Nielsen voegt zich bij het team specialisten onder aanvoering van sportief directeur Ross Brawn.

Nielsen zal in het team de functie head of sporting matters gaan bekleden. De Brit moet input geven over de dagelijkse gang van zaken bij de Formule 1-teams en hij gaat de commerciële rechtenhouder vertegenwoordigen bij vergaderingen over de sportieve reglementen.

Zijn opvolger bij Williams is ook al bekend en luistert naar de naam Dave Redding. Nielsen werkte eerder voor Lotus, Tyrrell, Benetton/Renault, Honda, Arrows en Caterham. Brawn verzamelde eerder al Jason Somerville, Craig Wilson en Nigel Kerr om zich heen.
