Barcelona kan datums wintertests nog niet bevestigen

Het heeft er alle schijn van dat ook in 2018 de twee vierdaagse tests ter voorbereiding op het nieuwe seizoen plaatsvinden op het Circuit de Catalunya nabij Barcelona. Gesproken wordt over een wintertest van 26 februari tot en met 1 maart en een wintertest van 6 tot en met 9 maart.

Het is alleen nog niet helemaal in kannen en kruiken, zo laat een woordvoerster van het circuit aan F1Today.net weten. "Zoals altijd in deze fase van het jaar praten de teams en Barcelona over de mogelijkheden om in de voorbereiding op het nieuwe seizoen op Circuit de Catalunya te testen. We hebben alleen nog geen bevestiging binnen."

De in-season tests vinden volgend jaar na de Grands Prix van Spanje en Hongarije plaats, dat is al wel duidelijk. Dit jaar begon de eerste wintertest op 27 februari. Paul Ricard had er wel oren naar om een van de twee tests ter voorbereiding op volgend seizoen bij Barcelona weg te kapen, maar de teams zagen daar geen heil in.
