Circuit of the Americas krijgt er een voetbalstadion bij

Opmerkelijk nieuws vanuit Austin; het Circuit of the Americas krijgt een voetbalstadion met een capaciteit voor 5.000 toeschouwers. Dat bericht brengt de American Statesman. Austin treedt in 2019 toe tot de United Soccer League, het tweede niveau in de Amerikaanse voetballerij.

COTA-voorzitter Bobby Epstein wordt ook de grootaandeelhouder van de voetbalclub uit Austin. Dat verklaart deels waarom de club zich vestigt op het circuit. Het knusse en intieme stadionnetje verrijst tussen het amfitheater en het grote plein van het Circuit of the Americas.

Heel raar dit. Slechts 5000 toeschouwers voor een tweede liga stadion.... bovendien niet echt verbonden met F1, maar het kan aan mij liggen.
