Lewis Hamilton steunt stichting van Leonardo DiCaprio

Mercedes-coureur Lewis Hamilton steunt de stichting van filmster Leonardo DiCaprio. De drievoudig wereldkampioen Formule 1 verleent medewerking aan een veiling om zoveel geld in te zamelen ten behoeve van bescherming van de natuur en het milieu.

Hamilton verbindt zijn naam daar maar wat graag aan en heeft een leuk veilingitem. "Ik stel een raceweekend met mij bij een Grand Prix naar keuze ter beschikking voor de veiling van de Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation." Een bod uitbrengen kan hier.

      Wel een beetje gevoel voor verhouding aub. De hele f1 gebruikt op jaarbasis evenveel als 1 vlucht europa-amerika. Lewis jast er in zijn eentje vele malen meer door dan alle f1 auto's samen.

      Ik dacht dat dit meer voor de rijkere coureurs geld, en dat genoeg coureurs met normale lijnvluchten reizen, zeker bij overzeese gp's

      @ Ner Herder: Hypocriet? Hoe moet die vent dan de hele wereld steeds over? Op de fiets? Hamilton en de anderen hebben nu eenmaal een vliegtuig nodig voor hun werk, maar dat wil niet zeggen dat ze dan hypocriet zijn als ze een natuurdoel steunen.

      @Jean ja maar bij overzeese vluchten is een lijnvlucht gewoon sneller. Privé jets vliegen ongeveer 800km per uur terwijl charters rond de 1200 km per uur kunnnenvliegen.

      Ja hypocriet. Wanneer meneer met natuur en milieu begaan is, kan hij ook met een paar honderd man in een vliegtuig kruipen. Er heeft niemand binnen de f1 een jet nodig om op zijn werk te komen. Hij moet helemaal zelf weten wat hij in zijn vrije tijd doet, maar zinloos tonnen brandstof er doorheen jassen en dan een paar kaartjes veilen om je bijdrage aan natuur en milieu te leveren... #hypocriet. Maar ja, wanneer je met een fiets als alternatief voor een jet komt, dan kan het in jouw beleving idd niet anders...

      Mja, maar hij - en ook de anderen - zit natuurlijk niet alleen in dat vliegtuig. Ze nemen echt wel mensen mee, het is niet zo dat Lewis en zijn collega's allemaal moederziel alleen in die cabine zitten.
      Volgens jouw stelling zouden ze dus niets mogen steunen wat goed is voor het milieu omdat ze dan meteen hypocriet zijn want ze hebben een vliegtuig. Tsja...

      @ F1FAN1993 op 11.000 meter ligt de geluidsbarriere op 1000 km per uur. In warme gebieden en op open zee (oceaan) ligt dat rond 1200 km per uur. De meeste commerciele en prive vliegtuigen vliegen met een snelheid van 0.75 mach maar nooit boven de geluidssnelheid,
