Toto Wolff vertrouwt niet blindelings op aannames

De algemeen heersende verwachting is dat Mercedes favoriet is voor winst in de Grand Prix van België van komend weekend. Daar kan motorsportbaas Toto Wolff echter weinig mee. Zoals altijd worden races niet op papier verreden. Mercedes zal het dit weekend op Spa-Francorchamps echt weer helemaal zelf moeten doen.

Wolff: "Op papier zou Spa ons moeten liggen omdat het een circuit is waar aerodynamische efficiëntie ontzettend belangrijk is. Zulke aannames zijn echter gevaarlijk. We hebben dit seizoen meermaals gezien dat het vormpeil per weekend kan verschillen. We vertrouwen dan ook niet op aannames. Het is aan ons om alle punten op onze lijst af te vinken en te zorgen dat we zo goed mogelijk werken om ons resultaat te maximaliseren."

"Ons doel is hetzelfde als aan het begin van het seizoen, namelijk beide kampioenschappen winnen. De geschiedenis wijst uit dat je met de snelste auto vaak de titel bij de coureurs pakt, en dat je voor de titel bij de constructeurs het beste en meest constante rijdersduo nodig hebt. Onze prioriteiten zijn duidelijk, wij moeten elke Grand Prix performance aan de wagen toevoegen en we mogen geen fouten maken om die performance optimaal te benutten."

"Van wat we in de eerste seizoenshelft gezien hebben zwaait de pikorde per circuit een andere kant op. Red Bull Racing gaat ook een bedreiging vormen als zij voort kunnen borduren op hun sterke optreden in Hongarije. Wij dienen de mouwen op te stropen, nederig om te springen met onze sterke punten en ijverig aan onze zwakke plekken te werken terwijl we het van weekend tot weekend bekijken."

  Op Spa zeker met je eens ! Dat wordt gewoon een 1-2 voor Mercedis. Maar Monza ben ik niet zeker van... Ferrari heeft daar wat extra... we gaan het zien.

Ik vind die Toto toch een prachtige vent. En heeft enorme kennis van zaken. Hoop nu alleen nog dat hij Max naar Mercedis haald voor de eerste race in 2019...... in die silber peil naar het WK rijden....

  Als we dan toch ray zijn dictee aan het nakijken zijn kan silber peil er ook bij.
  
  @ray trek, het je niet persoonlijk aan ik maak me er ook regelmatig schuldig aan door iets te snel op verzenden te klikken.

Wat het merendeel niet beseft is dat Ferrari dit seizoen over het algemeen de best auto heeft.

Australië Ferrari
China Ferrari (ham won door strategie)
Bahrein Ferrari
Rusland gelijkwaardig (Bottas won Ferrari was sneller)
Spanje Mercedes
Monaco Ferrari
Canada Mercedes (vooral Hamilton)
Baku gelijkwaardig
Oostenrijk gelijkwaardig
Silverstone Mercedes
Budapest Ferrari

Ferrari was 5x de beste auto en Mercedes 3x Rn 3x waren ze gelijkwaardig aan elkaar.
Conclusie de Ferrari was de eerste helft van het seizoen de beste auto.

  Zie niet in wat je met dit lijstje wil zeggen... China, hamilton won door strategie, dat mag niet ??? canada, vooral Hamilton Dus??... Rusland , Baku, Oostenrijk gelijkwaardig ( volgens jou) En dan moeten ze maar een gelijkspel afspreken of zo??

  @Jaylie waar beseer je dat op? Kwalificatie was langzamer en Kimi zijn echte pace hebben we niet kunnen zien.
