Toekomst Kari bij Red Bull hangt aan zijden draadje

Niko Kari lijkt het opleidingsprogramma van Red Bull na dit jaar te moeten verlaten. De 17-jarige Fin kreeg afgelopen winter al de waarschuwing dat zijn seizoen in het Europees Formule 3-kampioenschap ondermaats was. Dit jaar mocht hij zich bewijzen in de GP3.

Kari werd ondergebracht bij het aan Red Bull Racing-teambaas Christian Horner verbonden Arden, maar zijn prestaties vallen opnieuw tegen. Helmut Marko deelde aan C More mede: "We blijven tot het einde van het seizoen met Niko werken, maar zijn performance is niet wat we ervan verwacht hadden."

Het opleidingsprogramma van Red Bull bestaat naast Kari verder uit Pierre Gasly, Richard Verschoor, Dan Ticktum en Neil Verhagen.
