België in onderhandeling over verlenging GP-contract

De organisatie van de Belgische Grand Prix voert gesprekken om het contract met de Formule 1 te verlengen. Dat verkondigde promotor Andre Maes in De Telegraaf. De huidige verbintenis van Spa-Francorchamps met de Formule 1 loopt na 2019 af.

De onderhandelingen over een nieuwe overeenkomst lopen. "We zijn druk bezig onze deal met vijf jaar te verlengen", aldus Maes. Dat zou betekenen dat de Grand Prix van België op Spa-Francorchamps in elk geval tot en met 2024 verzekerd is van een plek op de Formule 1-kalender.

Spa is onvervangbaar wat mij betreft. Ik zou twee Nederlandse grand prixs nog niet in willen ruillen voor Spa.

    Mooi, blijft een mooi circut en hoort erbij. Jammer voor Assen/Zandvoort die graag mee zouden liften op de MaxMania maar Spa is ook veel meer een thuis grandprix dan Assen/Zandvoort ooit zal zijn ivm zijn belgische roots.

      Daar denkt Max heel anders over wat thuis circuit betreft. Max zou maar wat al te graag in Zandvoort scheuren. Tenminste als ik een interview met Max mag geloven enkele weken geleden.

      Spa is een prachtig circuit, de route er naar toe is wat minder en geeft behoorlijk wat overlast, echter dat zal niet anders zijn in Zandvoort.

      Zandvoort of Assen er bij op de kalender zou ik leuk vinden. Maar als dat ten koste gaat van Spa, dan no way!

      Spa is met afstand het mooiste circuit en onvervangbaar. En al zeker niet door Zandvoort of Assen

      De Verstappens zijn beide , zowel Jos als Max, anders een groot voorstander van (ooit) weer Zandvoort als GP circuit ... De hypocrisie van de Belgen nu Max succes heeft kan je beter vraagtekens bij zetten, over " meeliften" gesproken.... Ga maar is aan Jos vragen waarom Max eigenlijk geen autosport Belg is....

      Wat is er hypocriet aan meegenieten van iemand die in België is opgegroeid zeg? Hij mag dan wel zelf voor de Nederlandse vlag kiezen, hij is half Belgisch, dus waarom zouden wij daar niet van meegenieten?

      @Wingleader , ik zeg ook niet dat hij niet grag over Zandvoord zou scheuren. Maar als Limburger zal hij echt wel meer hebben met Spa als Zandvoort. Maar we zullen het nooit weten. Zandvoort zal het hem toch nooit worden. Assen is voor Motoren en weer een nieuwe baan in de polder, daar heeft niemand wat mee. Gewoon Spa , klaar

      Als Max weer een autibheeft waar hij competitief mee is. Dat hoeft geen eens de beste auto van het veld te zijn, maar af en toe gewoon weer mee kan doen zoals vorig jaar.

      Dan zijn Zandvoort en Spa beiden uitblverkocht. Mits niet in dezelfde maand.

    Spa is een top circuit met een grote historie. Dat moet gewoon behouden blijven. Spa heeft veel meer te bieden in mijn opzichten tav Zandvoort/ Assen
