Hamilton stelt zichzelf beschikbaar voor bandentest

Mercedes-coureur Lewis Hamilton komt deze week in actie tijdens een bandentest met Pirelli op het circuit van Paul Ricard. De Brit heeft zichzelf beschikbaar gesteld om bij te dragen aan de ontwikkeling van de banden voor volgend seizoen.

Een unicum, aangezien de drievoudig wereldkampioen over het algemeen niet zo'n fan is van testen. Hamilton liet de bandentests vorig jaar vaak ook liever over aan teamgenoot Nico Rosberg of aan Pascal Wehrlein. Deze week kan Pirelli wel op zijn hulp rekenen.

Hamilton: "Ik test later deze week en dat is vrij zeldzaam voor mij. Ik ben niet echt een tester. Ik kijk ernaar uit. Ik heb zelf aangeboden om het te doen. Dus ik verheug me erop, min of meer." De bandentest met Pirelli vindt donderdag plaats op Paul Ricard.

    Goed, dan weten we in ieder geval zeker dat Hamilton er volgend jaar gewoon weer bij is, of ie nou kampioen wordt of niet.

      Hamilton gaat denk ik bijtekenen tot 2020, hij zou gek zijn als hij dat niet zou doen met zo'n goede auto.

      Niet helemaal. Hamilton kijkt van jaar tot jaar of ie nog zin heeft of niet. Dat heeft ie ook haarfijn in zijn contract laten opnemen.

      Rosberg heeft vorig jaar ook getest met de banden voor 2017... Waar is die nu?
      Dus blijkbaar is dat testen zo vermoeiend, dat je daarna overweegt te stoppen. :-P

      Inderdaad, hij gaat er weer eens goed voor zitten. Dit is prettig voor de spanning van het WK. Tot op het bot gemotiveerde coureurs, dat willen we zien !

      Inderdaad. Het zal spannend worden om te zien of de Mercedes volgende race 9 tienden of een volle seconde voorsprong heeft op de rest.

    Wat een gigantische eer voor de hele formule 1-wereld dat Lewis de Grote I deze bandentest wil uitvoeren.
    Is het al uitverkocht of zijn er toch nog wat kaartjes voor geluksvogels?

      @Pietje. Zo is dat.
      Het ging me overigens over de manier waarop het bericht geschreven is, alsof het iets bijzonders is als bijvoorbeeld een bericht over Willem-Alexander die volgende week een keer zijn eigen schoenen gaat poetsen.

      Heb ook geen voorkeur voor specifieke coureurs, behalve dan dat ik graaf de besten zie racen: Vettel, Hamilton, Alonso, Verstappen. En beloften zoals Ocon.
      Maakt ook niet uit voor welk team ze rijden. Waarvan akte.

      Het is ook bijzonder want normaal zit Lulu liever in een geluidsstudio met z'n mattie Biebs.

      Ik denk dat hij zich na vorig seizoen en de eerste helft van dit seizoen realiseert dat het niet zomaar even komt aanwaaien en dat z'n concurrentie toch wel iets sterker is dan dat hij graag toegeeft.

      Ik zie de komende 5 races het spannend zijn, Singapore zal Ferrari wel sterker zijn.
      En er komt over een paar races (als het goed is Maleisië) een krachtigere Ferrari PU.

    Komt Paul Ricard niet volgend jaar terug op de kalender? Dan denk ik dat ie gaat kijken hoe de baan is.. Scheelt weer simulator werk..

    Mits ze natuurlijk dezelfde layout gaan gebruiken voor de test en race.. Want er zijn nogal wat mogelijkheden op Paul Ricard
