Honda vastberaden om punten te scoren in Singapore

Achter de schermen gebeurt er een hoop bij Honda met de ophanden zijnde breuk met McLaren en de aanstaande samenwerking met Scuderia Toro Rosso, maar dat is van later zorg. Eerst moet de Japanse autofabrikant zich zo goed mogelijk voorbereiden op het Grand Prix-weekend in Singapore. McLaren-Honda moet daar in staat zijn om een goed resultaat neer te zetten.

Yusuke Hasegawa, baas van het Formule 1-project bij Honda, wil in elk geval punten scoren in Singapore. "Het resultaat van de Italiaanse Grand Prix was teleurstellend. Echter, het was positief dat onze snelheid redelijk goed was op een circuit als Monza, waar motorvermogen zo belangrijk is. Het stratencircuit van Singapore is echter onvergelijkbaar met Monza."

"Met veel krappe en langzame bochten zijn we hier minder afhankelijk van puur vermogen. Dat speelt ons meer in de kaart, zoals we eerder dit seizoen in Hongarije gezien hebben. De balans tussen aandrijflijn en chassis vormt de sleutel tot een goed weekend. Onze engineers zullen hard moeten werken aan de ideale set-up. Hopelijk kunnen we onze coureurs van een goed pakket voorzien zodat zij op jacht kunnen naar de zo vurig gewenste punten."

      Voila, we zien wel waar het schip strand.
      Het zou mooi zijn als de beide piloten punten pakken, maar het hangt niet van hun alleen af.
