Buurman hoopt op GP2 in 2011 en Formule 1-debuut in 2012

Yelmer Buurman mocht vandaag voor het eerst in zijn carriére rijden in een Formule 1-auto. De Nederlander, die afgelopen seizoen voor AC Milan de vijfde plaats in het Superleague-kampioenschap behaalde, wil zich door middel van een GP2-contract in 2011 voorbereiden op een racecontract in de Formule 1.

"Vandaag reed ik voor het eerst in de Formule 1", vertelde Buurman, die overigens tevreden was over zijn testdag bij Force India. "Ik hoop dat ik naast de GP2 of Superleague Formula in 2011 nog enkele Formule 1-tests kan afwerken. Een jaar later wil ik met hulp van het Nederlandse bedrijfsleven mijn debuut maken in de Formule 1. Ik voel me er zeker klaar voor en wil Force India nogmaals bedanken voor deze test."
