Robert Shwartzman in talentenprogramma van Ferrari

Ferrari is druk bezig op de rijdersmarkt. Niet in de Formule 1, maar in de opstapklasses. Nadat de Scuderia eerder al Formule 3-coureur Callum Ilott had opgenomen in de opleiding, is nu ook Formule Renault 2.0-rijder Robert Shwartzman toegevoegd aan het talentenprogramma.

Shwartzman, een 18-jarige Rus, is dit jaar actief in de Formule Renault 2.0. In die serie gooide hij aan het begin van het seizoen hoge ogen, met drie overwinningen in de eerste vijf races. De laatste tijd gaat het wat minder, onder meer met een diskwalificatie in Paul Ricard, waardoor hij is gezakt naar de vierde plaats in de tussenstand.

Charles Leclerc, Antonio Fuoco, Guan Yu Zhou, Giuliano Alesi, Marcus Armstrong en Enzo Fittipaldi zijn de overige coureurs in de Ferrari Driver Academy.
