Steiner: "Haas maakt zich op voor zwaarste race van het jaar"

Günther Steiner, teambaas van het Amerikaanse Haas F1, verwacht een lastige race voor coureurs Romain Grosjean en Kevin Magnussen op het Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. De Italiaan refereert naar vorig jaar, toen Haas zelfs moeite had de coureurs van het kleine Manor Racing achter zich te houden. Volgens Steiner passen de eigenschappen van het circuit in de Mexicaanse metropool totaal niet bij de VF-17.

De thuisrace van Haas op het Circuit of the Americas verliep ook al moeizaam en Steiner verwacht weinig verbetering op het Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez: "Het wordt heel zwaar voor ons. We hebben moeite met het koelen van de wagen en met de ijle lucht hier wordt dat nog moeilijker. Ook genereert onze nieuwe aerodynamica niet genoeg neerwaartse druk, waardoor de balans van de auto lastig op orde is te krijgen. Ik verwacht een moeizaam weekend, net als vorig jaar."

Grosjean en KMag zijn gelukkig wel coureurs die makkelijk om deze problemen heen kunnen rijden.
