Preview: Race of Champions 2010 Düsseldorf

Komend weekend staat het jaarlijkse evenement Race of Champions weer op het programma. Het spectaculaire evenement markeert het einde van het raceseizoen waarbij alle grote namen uit auto- en motorsport in actie zullen komen. F1Today.nl maakte een kleine preview op het evenement dat morgen van start zal gaan.

Op zaterdag wordt het evenement geopend met de Nations Cup. Hierbij zullen alle coureurs in teams van twee in verschillende auto's strijden om het beste land te worden. Sebastian Vettel en Michael Schumacher, die al drie keer eerder de Nations Cup wisten te winnen, nemen het onder andere op tegen Jeroen Bleekemolen en Bertrand Baguette die samen Team Benelux vormen.

Een dag later zal er in de ESPRIT arena in Düsseldorf worden gestreden om de titel 'Champion of Champions'. Voor de individuele race zijn er vier groepen gemaakt, waarna de knock-out fase plaats zal vinden. In de groepsfase zal elke coureur twee ronden over het circuit moeten rijden om zijn plaats in de volgende ronde te verdienen.

Verder zal Vettel zowel op zaterdag als op zondag een demonstratie geven met de Red Bull RB6 in de ESPRIT arena. Verder zullen op beide dagen demo's worden verzorgd door X-Fighters kampioen Mat Rebeaud en Streetbike Freestyle coureur Chris Pfeiffer. De Race of Champions zal live via internet te volgen zijn, maar zal ook worden uitgezonden op Motors TV en de Duitse zenders Sky en ZDF.
