Aston Martin vindt de motorenplannen 'bemoedigend'

Aston Martin-directeur Andy Palmer heeft positief gereageerd op de contouren voor de motorformule voor 2021 en daarna. De internationale autosportbond FIA publiceerde gisteren de uitgangspunten voor de motorreglementen voor de toekomst. De regels moeten nog in een definitieve vorm gegoten worden, maar het begin is er.

En dat begin is Aston Martin wel bevallen. Het Britse sportwagenmerk overweegt al langer om toe te treden tot de Formule 1 en was aanwezig in Parijs bij de presentatie van de plannen voor de toekomst. Aston Martin heeft ook al personeel met Formule 1-ervaring geworven, waaronder voormalig werknemers van Ferrari.

Directeur Palmer toonde zich tegenover Autosport content over de richting die de Formule 1 op wil slaan. "Aston Martin heeft de recente FIA-bijeenkomst bijgewoond en is nadrukkelijk betrokken geweest via bijdrages voor potentiële oplossingen. De eerste stappen die nu zijn gezet zijn bemoedigend en we blijven een mogelijk project voor Aston Martin voor 2021 bestuderen."

De Britse autoproducent is momenteel partner van Red Bull Racing en groeit volgend jaar uit tot titelsponsor van de Oostenrijkse renstal. Ook bij Red Bull is verrukt gereageerd op de voorstellen die er nu liggen. "Een dergelijke motor zou voor ons goed zijn", aldus Helmut Marko.

Praat geen onzin Venlo. Aston Martin maakt wel zelf motoren voor hun auto's. Alle moderne V12 blokken die in een Aston Martin worden gelepeld zijn eigen ontwikkelde en gebouwde motoren.
De V8 motoren komen van AMG (Mercedes) af.

      is nog niks duidelijk, pas eind volgend jaar zullen we het weten ondertussen heeft mercedes allang iets en die gaat hem door duwen aan de f1 gemeenschap :p

    Maar wat ik mij afvroeg, de V6 blijft met de MGU-K. Het enige was verandert is dat de MGU-H verdwijnt, en de turbo wordt anders/groter.. Naar mijn inziens is de verandering dan niet zo groot zoals die in 2014 was, met de overgang van de V8 naar de V6.. Heeft Mercedes dan nog steeds niet 'n enorm voordeel wanneer Aston Martin de F1 in wil?

    onzin Aston Martin maakt geen eigen motors voor hun auto's en wil een F1 motor gaan maken ? Cosworth motor, de Volkswagen Group , Zytek en Magneti Marelli zijn de bedrijven die een motor willen gaan maken voor 2021 . cosworth maakt nu de motor voor Aston Martin Valkyrie .

      Wat ik begreep uit vorige berichten zal dit mogelijk in samenwerking gaan met Cosworth Motor. Gaan wel zien wat daar dan weer uit gaat komen.

      helemaal onzin is het dus niet Aston Martin wil dus duidelijk "eigen"motoren gaan produceren

      e.a.a. zal dus gecombineerd worden met idd Cosworth of een derde partij, cosworth zal dus het motorendeel voor zn rekening nemen met Aston als Klant zeg maar een joint venture het Label zal ongetwijfeld Aston worden, dit zal Aston alleen gaan doen als ze zekerheid hebben van Cosworth en uiteraard ook van de FIA, dat Aston (vooralsnog) geen motoren bouwt is denk ik wel duidelijk bij iedereen, Mercedes is eveneens een leverancier, en niet alleen van Motoren.

      een ander belang heeft RB die koste wat kost een "eigen" exlusieve PU wil hebben, de samenwerking (Newey en RB) ligt er al het Label op de RB is al Aston Martin dus ik ga ervan uit dat RB onderdeel gaat uitmaken in een evt Joint Venture wat ten goede komt aan de investeringsruimte in ontwikkeling en kosten voor alle partijen.
