Renault vol in de aanval om zesde te worden bij constructeurs

Voor de teams van Renault, Toro Rosso en Haas F1 staat er nog heel wat op het spel tijdens de Grand Prix van Abu Dhabi. Alle drie de renstallen kunnen nog zesde worden bij de constructeurs. Toro Rosso heeft op dit moment een kleine voorsprong op Renault en Haas, maar gezien de slechte vorm van het opleidingsteam van Red Bull van de laatste tijd zou het zomaar kunnen dat Renault of Haas er met de zesde plaats vandoor gaat.

Gevraagd naar de strategie voor Abu Dhabi is Renault-teambaas Cyril Abiteboul duidelijk: "We zullen vol in de aanval moeten om over Toro Rosso heen te gaan in het kampioenschap. Qua snelheid zitten we niet ver van hen vandaan, maar ook Haas is een gevaarlijke outsider. Aan onze coureurs zal het niet liggen, Carlos Sainz laat een frisse wind waaien door het team en zet Nico Hülkenberg op scherp. Het is aan ons om onze coureurs een auto te geven waarmee ze een flink aantal punten kunnen scoren op het Yas Marina Circuit. Het lijkt erop dat het in Abu Dhabi beter moet gaan dan in Brazilië."

Volgens technisch directeur Bob Bell is de zesde plaats niet alleen financieel belangrijk voor Renault, het kan ook de bevestiging zijn dat de Franse renstal op weg is naar de terugkeer aan de top: "Natuurlijk willen we hoger eindigen dan vorig jaar. Onze auto is dit jaar veel beter dan vorig jaar. Onze doelstelling om vijfde te worden was wat te hoog gegrepen, maar als we zesde worden gaan we met een positief gevoel naar 2018."

Ik mag hopen dat die Renaultblokken uit elkaar klappen bij Renault GP. Haas wat puntjes en hoger eindigen als die Abiteboul, wat een EIKEL is dat.

  Nooit verwacht dat ik hoopte op een goed resultaat van Magnussen maar t zou mooi zijn als Haas boven de Renault finisht in het 2de jaar.

6e ipv van 5e ALS ze al 6e worden, onbetroywbare motoren, klantenteams die steen en been klagen over de gebrekkige franse rommel. Tuurlijk ga je dan met een positief gevoel naar 2018.

Ach, het is goed zo, nu ervaren ze zelf de spanning, hoe het is om iets te kunnen winnen afhankelijk van of de motoren het houden.

Ook al zou Renult 6e worden, wat ik niet hoop na de uitspraken van Abiteboel. Maar hoe kun je dan in vredesnaam tevreden zijn als al je klantenteams (zwaar terecht) steen en been klagen. Door die Franse arrogantie kijk ik nogal sceptisch naar 2018, waar het echt een heel stuk beter zal moeten.

I lach me kapot als deze motoren op worden geblazen, zou het kut vinden voor Hulk en Sainz maar Renault heeft toch een vies smaakje gekregen met die FIA Engineer en laatst stiekum de motoren terug te schroeven zonder er melding van te maken.

Toro Rosso en Haas mogen van mij boven Renault eindigen.

Ze zouden beter vol in de strijd gaan met betrouwbaarheid en snelheid. maar dat zie ik niet gebeuren. Mag hopen dat Torro Rosso er boven eindig, en de beste motor geven aan de gene die daar de punten binnen kan halen, zo ook aan Ricardo de laatste race de beste motor geven die ze hebben. Ook hij strijd om een plaats op de lader te behouden. Max en de andere Torro Rosso lekker vol op in de pk's zetten en met mooie ploffen afsluiten dit jaar.

Het wordt waarschijnlijk geen kwestie wie de snelste is, maar wie de finish haalt. Als ze allemaal finishen is Renault sneller, maar dan moeten ze allebei in de punten rijden, want ik zie Sainz of Hulkenberg mits er geen gekke dingen gebueren geen 7e worden.
