Mark Webber herstelt Tasmania Challenge in ere voor 2011

Red Bull Racing-coureur Mark Webber organiseert volgend jaar weer een Tasmania Challenge. De Australiër brak bij de laatste editie in 2008 zijn been toen hij op zijn mountainbike aangereden werd door een auto. De competitie waarbij teams het tegen elkaar opnemen in uitputtende sportieve uitdagingen om geld voor goede doelen te genereren vindt in 2011 van 5 tot en met 8 december plaats.

De overheid van Tasmanië investeert de komende drie jaar jaarlijks 400.000 dollar in het evenement. Michelle O'Byrne, minister van Toerisme voor de staat Tasmanië, vertelt: Het is geweldig nieuws voor Tasmanië en we heten Mark Webber welkom terug als een van de grootste ambassadeurs voor onze staat. De laatste editie was globaal goed voor zeven miljoen dollar aan exposure. En de marketingkracht van een van de bekendste Australiërs is sindsdien alleen maar toegenomen.
