Coureurs hebben voorproefje van F1-toekomst bekeken

De internationale autosportbond FIA en commerciële rechtenhouder FOM hebben afgelopen weekend de ideeën voor aerodynamische concepten voor de Formule 1-auto's voor 2021 en daarna aan de coureurs gepresenteerd. Dat meldt Motorsport-Total.com. De presentatie voltrok zich tijdens de rijdersbriefing op vrijdag in Abu Dhabi.

De FIA en FOM hebben geleerd van het verleden en willen voortaan ver van tevoren nieuwe regels voor de toekomst aankondigen, zodat er tijd overblijft om te sleutelen aan de reglementen. In dat kader hebben de rijders nu een voorproefje van de aerodynamica voor 2021 voorgeschoteld gekregen. Het ging om illustraties van delen van de auto, niet van een gehele bolide.

Volgens een van de aanwezige coureurs zagen de plannen er futuristisch uit, een andere rijder vergeleek de schetsen met ruimtevaartuigen. Motorsport-Total.com bericht dat de 'halo' in elk geval onderdeel uitmaakt van de toekomstvisie van de FIA en FOM. Alternatieve opties voor de bescherming van de hoofden van de rijders, zoals het 'aeroscreen' of het 'shield', speelden geen rol in de presentatie.

      Een probleem met de halo nu is dat het totaal niet geïntegreerd is in het huidige ontwerp. Het is er gewoon soort van opgeplakt. Als het nou onderdeel uitmaakt van het ontwerp en de auto's er niet als teenslippers uitzien zie ik geen reden om per definitie tegen te zijn.

      Btw, van mij mogen de auto's er best zo uitzien als het renault concept op de afbeelding bij het artikel :P

      Gewoon een canopy..... Heb al eerder voorgestelt om er dan maar gelijk een soort F16 achtige canopy op de F1 te zetten Die Halo ziet er niet uit , en zal hooguit in de carosserie-kleur iets minder opvallen . De constructie,het uiterlijk, van het ding zal niet veel veranderen ...

      Hopelijk lachen ze in 2021 om 2018 omdat dat het eerste en tevens het laatste jaar met de halo was.

      @Stitch, die foto is van het Renault concept, daar is de cockpit helemaal dicht op, geen Halo nodig.
      Artikel heeft het ook over futuristische auto’s daar voldoet die foto dan weer wel aan.

      die teenslippers zijn bedoeld om de veiligheid te verhogen daar kan ik nog mee om, maar als je die illustratie ziet haakt ik mss wel af, dat kun nog nauwelijks vergelijken met een F1 wagen het lijkt eerder een voertuig voor mars .. de huidige indycars en FE auto's zijn niet om aan te zien imo.

    Reken maar dat de Halo tegen die tijd vervangen is door een dichte kap. Is namelijk nog veilger! Afgelopen zondag was een historisch moment ondanks de volgens velen saaie race: dit was de laatste F1 race met een open cockpit ooit. Helaas helaas.

      Een mens kan foeteren en ergeren wat ie wil, de evolutie kan hij nimmer tegenhouden.

      Jup, Revolutie betekend dat er iemand dood gaat, toch? Want onze idee over de Halo gaat dood (of is al dood) Toen de idee van de helo werd gemaakt is de monster (fia) de halo los gelaten. Toen ze begonnen met testen is de halo alleen maar groter en groter geworden en niemand heeft er controlen behalve de monster. Dus onze idee over de Halo is dood. En gaat gewoon verder

      @Darlos. Hopelijk met donker ondoorzichtbaar glas, dan heb je na afloop nog spannende momenten of de juiste coureurs wel in de wagens zaten... Stapt Ericsson opeens uit de winnende Mercedes,, super toch? Not. ;)

    Ben benieuwd wanneer ze de HALO als extra aerodynamisch onderdeel inzetten of wanneer de eerste extra vleugeltjes daaraan vastgeplakt worden.

    cockpit bescherming ok, daar komen we niet meer onderuit (helaas).

    Maar waarom niet beschrijven wat hij tegen moet houden en laat de teams zelf een oplossing vinden binnen de opgestelde eisen van de hoofdbescherming.

    Denk dat er dan weleens hele mooie oplossingen kunnen komen die mooier en wellicht effectiever zijn dan die huidige teenslipper
