Gascoyne: "Vrijblijvendheid verdwijnt bij Team Lotus"

Het personeel van Team Lotus is gewaarschuwd, volgend jaar verwacht de teamleiding meer van de werknemers. De tevredenheid over het debuutseizoen en de behaalde tiende plek zijn over. Technisch directeur Mike Gascoyne gaat over tot de orde van de dag en formuleert eisen voor 2011.

We moeten het allemaal opnieuw doen, maar nu zoals de grote jongens het doen, begint hij in de Norwich Evening News. Het is nu zaak om het niveau te verhogen. 2010 was leuk en aardig, maar hier houdt het niet op. Dit jaar was een goede oefening, nu verlangen we meer.

Ik wil aanstippen dat Red Bull Racing zeven jaar nodig had om te komen waar ze nu staan, met waarschijnlijk het drievoudige van wat wij investeren en een voorsprong door de overname van Jaguar. Maar het is aan mij en het team om ook zover te komen. De races vormen een duidelijk ijkpunt over wat we tekort komen. Het tijdverschil met de top moeten we zelf goed maken.
