Ross Brawn: "Drie races achter elkaar voorkomen in de toekomst"

Ross Brawn, technisch directeur van de Formule 1, heeft laten weten dat hij in de toekomst wil voorkomen dat er drie weekenden achter elkaar een Grand Prix is. Komend seizoen beleeft de Formule 1 een primeur met een zogenaamde 'triple header' in juli. De Grand Prix van Oostenrijk, Groot-Brittannië en Frankrijk vinden in juli plaats, dit heeft te maken met het WK voetbal 2018 in Rusland.

Ross Brawn laat aan Sky Sports weten dat het niet wenselijk is om drie weekenden achter elkaar een Grand Prix te plannen: "Het WK voetbal heeft ons opgezadeld met een 'probleem'. Het wordt een hele drukke maand in juli. We wilden echter ook voorkomen dat er een Grand Prix plaats vindt op het moment dat de finale van het WK voetbal wordt gespeeld. Drie races achter elkaar is dus een noodmaatregel, dit willen we in de toekomst niet weer."

      WK VOETBAL RUSLAND: van 14 juni 2018 tot en met 15 juli.

      Tja, zomaar een raar sportje waar meer mensen naar kijken dan welke andere sport dan ook....gaat ook nog eens beduidend meer geld in om en zijn er geen gelijke kansen om te kunnen winnen, diep triest :)
