Hoeveel kreeg de FIA bij verkoop van F1 aan Liberty?

Liberty Media nam eind vorig jaar de leiding over de Formule 1. Met de overname was een bedrag van 4,6 miljard dollar gemoeid. Het mediabedrijf gebruikte slechts 301 miljoen dollar aan eigen geld voor de aanschaf van de Formule 1. De rest is gefinancierd met leningen, aandelen en obligaties.

De internationale autosportbond FIA was ook een partij in de overdracht van de Formule 1 aan Liberty. Niet alleen moest de federatie de verkoop goedkeuren, ook bezat het nog aandelen in de koningsklasse van de autosport. De FIA had er dus belang bij om de Formule 1 tegen een zo hoog mogelijke prijs weg te zetten. Bij die dubbelrol zijn wel vaker vraagtekens geplaatst.

Christian Sylt van Formula Money is erachter gekomen hoeveel de FIA kreeg bij de verkoop van de Formule 1 aan Liberty Media. De bond ontving 19,6 miljoen dollar aan nieuwe aandelen, dik 24 miljoen dollar aan cash en meer dan 2,8 miljoen dollar aan obligaties.
