Schreeuwende Raikkonen 'Radiofragment van het Jaar'

De uitslag van de verkiezing voor het 'Radiofragment van het Jaar' van Formula1.com is bekend. Het inmiddels al bijna legendarische fragment met Ferrari-coureur Kimi Raikkonen in Azerbeidzjan, die door zijn team voor een herstart zonder stuurtje naar het einde van de pitstraat werd geduwd, vergaarde de meeste stemmen. De Fin schreeuwde letterlijk over de boordradio om degene met zijn stuur in de hand zover te krijgen om het stuurtje te overhandigen.

Tot de genomineerde momenten behoorde ook een fragment met Red Bull Racing-rijder Max Verstappen, namelijk het moment vlak na de startcrash in Singapore waarbij de Nederlander de schade rapporteert aan zijn team. De woorden van teamgenoot Daniel Ricciardo aan het adres van Verstappen na hun aanrijding in de eerste ronde in Hongarije stond eveneens op de shortlist van beste boordradiofragmenten.

Verder was McLaren-coureur Fernando Alonso twee keer vertegenwoordigd; met zijn opmerking over karma ten opzichte van Jolyon Palmer en met zijn frustraties over de technische problemen met zijn auto in Rusland. De boodschap van Sebastian Vettel richting Lewis Hamilton in Bakoe kon natuurlijk niet ontbreken, zoals ook de grappig bedoelde mededeling van Jenson Button in Monaco dat hij een plasje zou doen in de auto van Alonso erbij zat.

Er kon er maar één winnen en dat was dit fragment:

  Ik vond die van Alonso toch het leukst , " probeer het zelf " . Op dat moment vond ik die uitspraak geoorloofd en het gaf zijn pure frustratie weer.

2017 was een karig jaar wat betreft de onboard radio gesprekken.

Max 2015 "NO" en 2016 "i have a message for Charlie" Vettel waren diamantjes..
